Our Beliefs
God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has revealed himself to be the living and true God, perfect in love and righteous in all His ways. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God. There is only one God.
Father
God the Father is infinite, eternal, and unchanging in His attributes. He discloses himself to mankind through his creation and He is actively working out His plan of salvation through Jesus.
Son
Christ Jesus is the only Mediator between God and man. He is God's eternal Son and is co-equal with the Father. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his power over sin and death. He ascended to the right hand of the Father and will return to earth someday to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Bible
The Bible is God's Word to us. Human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, wrote it. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspired it, it is the written Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice. The Bible is to be interpreted according to its original context and purpose and obeyed in reverence to the Lord who speaks through it in living power.
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to renew our hearts, persuading us to repent of our sins and confess Jesus as Lord. The Holy Spirit leads us to trust in God's divine mercy, whereby we are forgiven all our sins, justified by faith alone through the merit of Christ our Savior, and granted the free gift of eternal life. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under his control daily.
People
People are made in the spiritual image of God, as the crown of creation, to be like him in character and to have fellowship with him. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin." This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.
The Church
The universal Church is composed of all persons who through faith in Jesus Christ have been saved. Christ is the head of the Church. The purposes of the Church are to worship God, to demonstrate God's love to the world in need, to communicate the good news of God's gift of salvation, to unite believers, and to help believers grow spiritually mature.
The Return of Christ
God's efforts of salvation will culminate in the return of Christ. He will then raise the dead and judge all men. Those who did not trust Christ for their salvation will exist eternally separated from God by their sin in Hell. Those who turned to Christ in faith for forgiveness and salvation will exist eternally with God in Heaven (heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence). Then, the whole earth will proclaim the glory of God who will make all things new.
